Great Find!

I found this website today, http://www.jacketflap.com/, a GEM! It is like facebook for children's authors, illustrators, agents, publishers, teachers, librarians, and more. If you are looking for a network there are over 6,500 + authors that live out there alone. I can tell it will be a wonderful resource and can't wait for something really cool to happen. Thought I'd share this with you as you might be looking for some of the same information I've been looking for. Let me know what you think - it is well worth signing up for! ~ Suzan ~

June 8th! Approval Form SIGNED!!

Just a short note....today was another landmark day! I received the last draft of Johnny Green and the Little Green Man to approve. On breaks (in the midst of training for a week) and at lunch time, I busied myself with reviewing the final corrections that had been made to Johnny Green. He sits perfectly complete somewhere in the Xlibris files waiting to go to print for the first time...the first copies in a hard cover and a soft cover book, of which I will review and sign off on and then go to print. I am so attached this little guy I feel like I should be there to receive him hot off the press. I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs, but rather couldn't hold back the tears of joy when I looked through the book for the final time checking off each correction I had requested one after another. Wow! This has been quite an experience. And best of all - it will be published in time to be on exhibit for the National Educators Association conference in July, in San Diego! 1 year and 10 months later here we are! Please give Johnny a standing ovation! I can't wait to provide you with more information!!! As I receive it....I will pass it on!!!

Approximate Publishing Date

Conversations have finally led up to a "must be published by" date with Xlibris. The deadline for exhibiting Johnny Green and the Little Green Man at the National Educators Association conference in San Diego, CA is June 8th! We are in the heavy edit phase and, hopefully, by early next week - the week of May 18th - I will see another galley (draft) of the book. I've learned a lot during the edit phase - especially how key communication is. I've been informed that there is another conference in November - the National School Librarian Conference - in Charlotte, NC, so I hope to also have Johnny Green and the Little Green Man on display there. I am thankful for the strong marketing department Xlibris has. They have helped educate me along the way and have given me many ideas in marketing my book. I've been doing quite a bit of research and, as I love marketing, I know it will be a

fun journey.

Thank you to my illustrator, Julia Floyd, who is working on Johnny's Facebook - he will be

informing readers on new and best practices on recycling, and other fun things. As soon as she is ready for it to go live,

I will post the link for you.

Here are the front and back covers of Johnny Green and the Little Green Man from the final mockup of the book. I had to cut six pages in the edit process, that was painful, and so this mockup contains these six pages and will become the "uncut" version. I will post the pages that were cut down the road.
