The second edition of Johnny Green and the Little Green Man has been launched! So awesome to 'feel the thrill' of this new ride with Tate Publishing Company. Where has Johnny Green and the Little Green Man been you might wonder? Sitting on a shelf collecting dust so to speak as what happens when nothing happens after a book is published without a good marketing plan to follow. Energy dries up and too quickly it becomes just a forgotten dream.
Dream revived here! New energy flowing and it is so exciting to know that the prospects for reinspiration are reborn! So - what happened first and what happened finally to revive the dream? As some of you know from my previous posts, self-pubishing is a long long haul, or at least for me it was! Some disappointment comes in the flury of the glory of finally getting your book published. The dream is squelched by what must follow once the book is finally in your hands. Don't get me wrong, I've had a wonderful time with the little opportunities I've had to share my dream - but now the living of the dream is about to unfold! If ever the dream was, the dream is now!
Johnny Green and the Little Green Man just became available within this last week and how exciting it is to see it listed once again http://www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore/search.php?search=johnny+green! Tate Publishing offered me a royalty contract on a second edition and what I couldn't have with my story the first time around! Sure we can do that, no problem was their response to the many things that didn't seem to go right the first time.... I love you Tate for that! Tee hee!
So - please stick with me....till next time!

Spring 2013
Realizing my last post to my Johnny Green Books blog was a year ago...and looking at the beautiful wisteria in that photo, this year is a long shot, Spring is still just around the corner as we had a wintery mix last night. Promises, promises, to be a Spring weekend and hopefully the last teaser. Barely any buds on the wisteria so far. My bet is we Spring right into Summer this year so I want to be prepared to enjoy any and all of the Spring days ahead!
I can't wait however as this year, with Spring being the promise of all new things, Johnny Green Books has an opportunity looming! I am anxiously waiting a next call from Tate Publishing Company, now with a signed contract to do a second edition of Johnny Green and the Little Green Man, this time a royalty contract with people that are real and I believe offering me the opportunity I've been waiting for! Could it be real and this is what any new author's dream is, to be offered this.
So - stay tuned, as I get more information I will share, that is my Spring promise to you! And don't forget - it's April - and our promise to worship the ground we walk on and be good stewards of our earth comes around this time every year!!! Take time to plan what you will do this year for our Earth! Johnny will be proud!

The Month of April
Without a doubt! I'm positive now that April is my favorite month of the year! Warmer weather, trees budding and flowering, the gift of new life, all bring me back from the dull drums (doledrums?) of winter! Earth Day comes with a gently reminder to be kinder to our Earth as well - and of course Johnny Green and the Little Green Man comes back into the picture! More coming soon about Johnny!
On another note, while on the internet this morning I found these photos about one of my favorite subjects, gardening and growing flowers here in our climate. For all of us that live in the Mid-Atlantic part of the US, where summers are HOT, HOT, HOT, and SIZZLE-ING STEAMY, I found these tips on what kind of summer blooms like our climate. Surprisingly, I have a number of them in my garden already and yes, they are prolific. One I would add to the list is Wisteria! Wisteria is really a Spring flower, but during the summer we cut back the runners and soon, another flower appears. Not as showy as in the Spring, but beautiful. Oh, and while working outdoors in the early evenings when the wind blows just the right way, the scent of wisteria fills the air...such aromatherapy! Here's my photo, taken this morning.....
I've always dreamed of having a split rail fence with wisteria growing on it and the reality is here. We celebrate our 10th summer in our home this year, I get so excited when I see the results of the sweat and labor we've put into our yard - unprofessional as we are - it's so, so satisfying! What other flowers do you grow that love our climate? Here's an additional list that I have...zinnias, dahlias, sedum, shasta daisy's, summer phlox....and I'm sure there's more I've missed!
